'Rochester'
‘Rochester’ is a hybrid witchhazel developed around 1960 at Durand-Eastman Park in Rochester, New York. This deciduous shrub grows up to 9 feet tall and wide, showcasing clusters of very fragrant, copper-orange flowers along bare stems in mid-winter. Some leaves may remain during flowering, providing a contrast to the vibrant orange and red blooms, however can take away from the blooms a bit.
'Wisley Supreme'
Hamamelis mollis ‘Wisley Supreme,’ a cultivar from RHS's Wisley Garden near London, features sweetly scented, pale-yellow flowers. The large blooms emerge in late winter before the leaves.


'Diane'
'Brevipetala'
This upright, vase-shaped shrub reaches 9-12 feet tall and wide. It has sweetly scented, deep ochre-yellow flowers that bloom in mid to late winter, featuring crinkled petals tinged with red at the base. The remaining leaves in winter provide a lovely contrast to the vibrant yellow blooms when up close.
